动词是高考的重点，动词词组是高考的难点，动词词组的多义性更是使考生难上加难，现就几年来曾多次出现的动词词组归纳如下。

1．hold on to  抓住，握住；不放弃，保留

1)      Hold on to the hat on a windy day.在有风的日子里请紧紧抓住帽子。

2)      You shouldn’t hold on to your share.你该出让你的股份。

2．put away 收起来放在惯常保存之处；储蓄，积累；放弃；监禁。

1)      Please put your books/toys away.请收好你的书本/玩具

2)      We should put away money for our old age.我们应该为防老而积钱。

3)      He had to put away all ideas of becoming a pianist.他不得不放弃想成为钢琴家的所有念头。

4)      He was acting so strangely that he had to be put away.他行为如此反常，因此不得不被监禁.                                                                                             3. pick up 捡起；通过---掌握一门技术、语言等；身体的康复；搭载；收拾，整理

1)      Pick up your hat and parcels.捡起你的帽子和包裹。

2)      Pick up a foreign language.自然学得一种外语。

3)      You will pick up soon when you get to the seaside.你到海滨就会恢复健康。

4)      He stopped his car to pick up a young girl who was hitch-hiking across Europe.他停车搭载一个乘便车旅行欧洲的年轻女孩。

5)      The room must be picked up before my mother arrives.妈妈到来之前，房间必须打扫干净。

4.keep back 不让他人知道，隐瞒；扣留

1)      She can keep nothing back from his friends.她在朋友面前没有秘密。

2)      They keep back 30RMB a month from my salary for Insurance. 他们每月从我们的薪金中扣30元付保险。

5.call for 邀约，拿取；需要，要求；为争取----而叫喊

1）  I’ll call for you at 6:00 .我六点来接你。

2）  You must take such steps as seem to be called for.你必须采取似乎必要的措施

3）  Call for help.求救

6. try out 借使用或实验以考验某事物；参加选拔

1）  This idea seem good but it needs to be tried out.这个构想似乎不坏，但需要实际考验。

2）  My brother want to try out for the football team.弟弟想要参加足球队员的选拔赛。

7.get along 过活，生活；进展；相处

1)      I can’t get along without money. 没钱我无法生活。

2)      How are you getting along with his French?他的法语学习情况如何？

3)      He gets along very well with his boss.他和老板和睦相处。

8.come up 长出地面；（被）提出；社会地位的高升，出头；符合，达到

1）  The seeds haven’t come up yet.种子尚未发芽

2）  The question hasn’t come up.问题尚未提出。/ They didn’t come up with the proposal.他们没有提出建议。

3）  He came up the hard way.他靠自己的努力而出人头地。

4）  The rules come up to standard. 这些规则符合标准。

9. keep up 赶上，不落后；保持联系；振作，不低落；遵循，沿袭；维护

1）  If you fall behind ,you must keep up with the rest of the class.如果你落后了，你必须赶上其他同学。

2）  Try to keep up with the old friends far away.设法和远方的老朋友保持联系。

3）  Keep up your spirits.振作精神。

4）  People in the west of China want to keep up the old customs.中国西部人民想要沿袭旧习俗。

10. come back 时尚的再度流行；反驳；重现于记忆中

1) Do you think long dress will ever come back?你认为连衣裙会再次流行吗？

2）He came back at the speaker with some sharp questions.他以一些尖刻的问题反驳演说家。

3) Their names are all coming back to me now. 他们的名字我现在都渐渐地想起来了。

11. give out 分发；用尽，耗尽；公布（消息）

3）  Give out the books. 分发书本。

4）  Our food supplies began to give out.我们存的食物要吃完了。The horse gave out.马跑不动了

5）  It was given out that Mary would be the leading actress.消息公布，玛丽将担任主角。

12.take up 拿起，举起；对----感兴趣，从事；继续----；占据（时间和空间）

1）  Should we take up arms to fight against the slavery? 我们应该那起武器和奴隶制做斗争吗？

2）  When did you first take up photograph?你最初是从何时开始喜欢摄影的？

3）  Mary took up the tale at the point where Tom had left off. 玛丽接着汤姆停止的地方继续讲这个故事。

4）  My time is fully taken up with writing.我的时间大部分都花在写作上。The big clock takes up too much room.这口大钟占居太多的空间。

13.go off 发射，响起；停止运行，中断；变坏；进展

1）  The alarm went off when the thief got in.小偷一进来，警铃就响了。

2）  The heating goes off at night.暖房夜间停止开放。The light went off灯灭了

3）  Her voice is going off. 她的嗓子坏了 / The milk has gone off. 奶牛变质了

4）  We were told that the performance had gone off splendidly 听说演出相当成功。

14 bring up 抚养，养育；接受教育；呕吐出来；提出来

1)      His parents died when he was a baby and he was brought up by his aunt.他很小时父母就去世了，是他阿姨抚养长大的。

2)      He was brought up to respect authorities. 他从小就接受尊敬师长的教育。

3)      He felt sick and brought up lunch.他身体不适，午饭全吐出来了。

4)      There are questions that you can bring up in the  meeting.这些问题你可以在会上提出来。

15 put up 升起，举起；建立或设立；提高或增加；提出-----；安排食宿

1)      She has put up her hair.她把头发挽在头上。

2)      Many tall buildings have been put up in my hometown.我的家乡已经建起了许多高楼

3)      My landlord’s threatening to put up the rent by 50RMB a month.我的房东威胁每月增加50 元的房租。

4)      He put up a proposal in the meeting yesterday.昨天他在会议上提出了一个建议。

5)      They put up at an inn for the night. 他们昨晚在一家客栈过夜。

16. make out 设法应付；了解，理解；声称

1)      How did he make out while his wife was away? 妻子不在，他生活怎么过的？

2)      What a strange person she is ! I can’t make her out at all.多奇怪的人，我根本不了解她。

3)      He made out that he had been robbed.他声称他遭到抢劫。

17. stand for 为---的缩略形式，代表；主张，赞同；容忍

1)      What does IQ stand for?  IQ是-----的缩写？

2)  We stand for the decision to reduce the burden on the students.我们支持为学生减负的决定。

3)  If I were you ,I wouldn’t stand for that sort of treatment 如果我是你，我就不能容忍这种待遇。

18.turn off 截断，关掉；离开某条路而走另一条路，使----厌烦，不喜欢对方

1) Turn off the light /gas/oven/tap.关掉灯/煤气/微波炉/水龙头

19  set off   动身；引起；使爆炸；衬托

1)      They set off for the first bus early this morning.他们动身去赶早班车。
